Village life, Sweetness of Music, Body & Mind, Organ Donation, Street Vendor, Girls at Work, Year of Youth, I can personally select the above among all in particular, as the themes are rare gems overlooked generally in our lives Ravishankar has sensitivity and melody in his writing to trigger a thought and string a chord in the reader’s heart In an extremely down to earth treatment of lofty ideas, he manages to paint a gamut of emotions and situations on a dramatic canvas with soulful poetry

Starting off with a youthful impact, Ravishankar takes you down the different lanes of life In poems like Caste Away, Self-study and Earthly emotions takes us on a travel in the thorny lanes and in poems like Gandhiji, Jesse Owens etc, he takes us on a travel in the inspiring lanes of the geography called society In poems like Girls at work, Heart of Steel etc, he takes us on a journey that will make us become empathetic to the surroundings One thing Ravi Shankar succeeds, is, making me (you) feel the words

“Talent” is a specialised gift of God to man. And “Talent” has many forms. Robust thinking is a gift of one kind, whereas “Expressing” such robust thoughts in words with brevity, without sacrificing clarity is another! And expressing such sublime thoughts in poetic form is the highest gift one can hope from God.
Further, most human beings are satisfied in materialistic sensual pleasures like good food that pleases the tongue or tourist heavens that please the eyes etc. In short, all happiness is confined to physical plane.
However, there is a different breed of rare people who are a class above the ordinary. Their sojourn is in the higher intellectual plane but also take ordinary people too effortlessly to their level.
Such specially talented, gifted intellectuals are like a TV box which converts Light and sound waves into concrete pictures with proper sound track so that ordinary people like us can understand what is conveyed. For, they convert God’s message into words of excellence that appear to us in the form of wonderful poems that can be understood and appreciated by us. Such poems, pregnant with profound meanings invariably transcend time!
One such exceedingly good poetic work is “Lockdown – Unlock poetic wings of freedom“. The author, Sri.D.N.Ravishankar hails from an illustrious family and whose father, Sri.Devisetty Nagabhushanam was a simple & multi-faceted personality. Hence, there is nothing to be surprised about the fact that the author is a gifted poet. However, what makes us wonder is that “Lockdown ” is his second attempt only, but is so high in content! In this connection, it may not be out of place to mention his first book “Feel the words” too was an outstanding accomplishment praised by the scholars.
I am sure the readers will agree with me with all the praise I have showered on the author once they go through the poems. And in all likelihood, they may point a finger at me that I could have been a little more generous! I would like to substantiate my above statements about the book and towards that objective; I give below the epi- centric ideas that transcend time:
